Days of the Dead Blog Tour and New Releases

It’s a spooktacular time of the year, with All Hallow’s Even, Samhain, Halloween, and Days of the Dead, just perfect for stories packed with ghosts, magic, cursed objects, haunted houses, and things that go bump in the night!

New and Coming soon!

Creature Feature (Spells, Salt, & Steel Book 7) — Mark Wojcik finds himself protecting cryptids from a kidnapper who traffics them to exotic hunters or collectors. The Huntsman has his eye on a rare prize—a huge, winged NuWi that only rises every fifty years, with plans to enslave the NuWi and use it to fry his enemies to a crispy crunch. Mark is determined to make the Huntsman’s plans go up in flames.

Sons of Darkness is now on audiobook! First in the Night Vigil series—Ex-priest Travis Dominick teams up with former FBI agent Brent Lawson to deal with demonic threats in Pittsburgh.

Inheritance (Deadly Curiosities book 4) is now on audiobook! Caribbean ghosts terrorize Charleston and start racking up a body count. Then Beckford Pendlewood, the heir to a powerful family of dark warlocks, shows up raving about a bound demon locked in a lost box and begs sanctuary. Can Cassidy and her friends find the demon box, stop the killer ghosts, and break the Pendlewood curse before Beckford’s murderous cousins and the vengeful demon destroy them all?

Coming soon!

Fugitive’s Vow (Assassins of Landria Book 3)—King’s Shadows Joel “Ridge” Breckenridge and Garrett “Rett” Kennard don’t believe the claims that the Witch Lord is dead. Then tragedy strikes, and Ridge and Rett are framed for the murders. It’s going to take luck, cunning, witchy friends and more than a few explosions to evade the warrants for their arrest and stop the Witch Lord’s latest plot.

Chicagoland (Joe Mack Adventures Book 3)—Supernatural Secret Service agent Jack West gets a call for help from Eliot Ness in Chicago, who fears Al Capone’s fascination with the occult has turned monsters loose in the city. Joe, Jack and their irrepressible partner in hijinxs Sarah Grace McAllen Harringworth head for the Windy City to tackle Scarface’s dark magic before it’s too late.

Fun Porch Reads for a Stay-at-Home Summer

Our summer plans may not exactly be unfolding the way we had expected, but a stack of books to be read is always your best friend!

Ghosts of the Past is the third Wasteland Marshals novella, coming soon from Falstaff Books. Shane Collins and Lucas Maddox head for the mountains of West Virginia, where they’ll deal with roadside attractions leveraging major mojo, scholars trying to save essential archives, a werewolf that likes to play Frisbee, creepy cultists, grim ghosts, a snarly yow, and Schröedinger’s hotel (sometimes it’s there, sometimes it isn’t.)

The new anthology Witches, Warriors, & Wise Women (Prospective Press) has a Deadly Curiosities original story—“Heap of Trouble.” A woman Cassidy has never heard of wills her house to Trifles and Folly. Cassidy doesn’t know why—but she is pretty certain trouble is on the way. You can find it on Amazon Here

We’re working on the next (sixth) Spells, Salt, & Steel book, and Gail is still working on Reckoning, a Darkhurst novel, the third and final book in that series.

Balticon and ConCarolinas may have cancelled their in-person events, but Larry and I have been busy on Zoom panels bringing all kinds of convention shenanigans your way! So watch those web sites and Facebook/YouTube pages to see all the fun stuff!

Gail is one of the con-runners for ConTinual—the ongoing, online multi-genre convention that never ends. That’s kept us both plenty busy recording panels and doing interviews with other authors.  Here are just a few to get you started!

What is ConTinual?

Social media for authors:

Writing short stories:

Gail interviews Lynn Zubernis, author of There’ll Be Peace When You Are Done

Although it may be a while before we can see you in person again, we love connecting in the Shadow Alliance reader group on Facebook, on Twitter, and in ConTinual. Stay safe, and we’ll see you online!

Welcome to the 2019 Hawthorn Moon Blog Tour

If you’re looking for some summer reading, you’ve come to the right place! My Hawthorn Moon blog tour is a great time to catch up on the latest titles, find out what’s coming soon, and get a behind-the-scenes peak at the characters and the series. Come check out what’s new and have a look at the coming attractions!

The Splintered Crown is the first in a brand new series by Larry N. Martin. Come along for the adventure as a group of down-at-the-heels friends are sent by a demigoddess on a dangerous quest in hopes of making their fortune and being able to escape the hardships of their lives in the city.  If you love portal fantasy and quest adventures, this is a perfect summer read!

Convicts & Exiles is the prequel to Ice Forged in the Ascendant Kingdoms Saga, and is the final work planned for this post-apocalyptic medieval epic fantasy series. This book fills in the six year ‘gap’ at the beginning of Ice Forged, telling the story of Blaine McFadden’s years in Velant Prison and as a colonist on Edgeland, and shows how he and his friends—Kestel, Piran, Verran and Dawe—came together as found family to save the kingdom.

Then there’s our newest audiobook, Spells Salt and Steel: Season One. Catch the adventures of snarky monster hunter Mark Wojcik as he battles monsters, vengeful ghosts and creepy cryptids. He’s got a grenade launcher full of salted holy water, and he’s not afraid to use it!

We’ve also got Deadly Curiosities stories in two new anthologies—Release the Virgins, published by Fantastic Books, and Tales from the Old Black Ambulance, from Prospective Press.

What’s new with Morgan Brice!

Lucky Town, the new Christmas Badlands novella, is perfect for the holidays! Psychic medium Simon Kincaide and his boyfriend, Myrtle Beach homicide detective Vic D’Amato, find that the only thing more frightening than murder might be navigating their first holiday season as a couple.

A trip back to Pittsburgh to spend Thanksgiving with Vic’s large, exuberant family means dodging old frenemies and a bitter ex-boyfriend. A cold case comes back to haunt Vic when the murdered man’s ghost begs Simon for justice. Then a new murder back in Myrtle Beach looks suspiciously familiar, and the dead woman’s ghost isn’t playing nice. When Simon gets a vision of the next victim before the crime occurs, he realizes that all the murders are supernaturally linked. Catching the murderer will take his psychic sleuthing skills along with Vic’s street smarts to avert a tragedy. Happy Fall—Lots of New Stuff!

Things haven’t slowed down yet around here—we’re just in pumpkin spice overdrive.

New Stuff

Salvage Rat, by Larry N. Martin, is now live! Think, Bonnie and Clyde meet V for Vendetta in a Firefly-esque universe.

Star Force pilot and hero Wyatt McCoy left his medals and career behind after the Rim Wars, disillusioned and bitter when he learns the truths behind the conflict. He takes his converted gunship, the Nellie B, and heads to the Near Fringe, salvaging derelict ships and abandoned stations and mining colonies. Dr. Beth Parker is a space archeologist, documenting the history of planetary expansion and colonization for Kalok Enterprises and the Interplanetary Mining Group. A piece of alien technology embeds itself in Beth’s arm, giving her the ability to see the energy impressions of long ago people and events. When Beth uncovers proof of genocide that could bring down the big mining companies, she’s the target of assassins. Wyatt makes a split-second decision to intervene, launching them both into a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game with some of the most powerful organizations in the system. They can prove Kalok and Interplan killed millions—but can they live long enough to tell their story? Read it here in ebook, print and audiobook:

Close Encounters, the newest Mark Wojcik monster hunter (New Templars) novella is out from Falstaff Books!

There’s a drunk werewolf passed out on his porch, a monster mistaken for a mammoth stalking the nearby woods, zombies at an abandoned sanitarium, and his niece has been kidnapped by a haunted hotel that makes the Overlook resemble the Waldorf Astoria. For Mark Wojcik, it’s just another week in the wild backwoods of Pennsylvania. Grab it here in print and ebook:

The Dark Road, the second Jonmarc Vahanian Adventure collection, is also live!

Jonmarc Vahanian fled from the raiders and monsters that killed his family, but when danger dogs his steps once again, he leaves the traveling caravan that gave him shelter to become a mercenary in nearby Principality. His fighting skills help him rise through the ranks, and draw the attention of a Nargi general—and the general’s undead mage. An old, unsettled score turns deadly, trapping Jonmarc in dangerous intrigue. He can save himself—and betray everything he holds dear—or die a hero as the raider’s curse holds true. Get it in ebook and print:

New from my alter-ego, Morgan Brice!

As Morgan Brice, I write Urban Fantasy MM Paranormal Romance. Here’s what’s new!

Witchbane: Seth Tanner uncovers a cycle of ritual killings that feeds the power of a dark warlock, and he’s hell bent on stopping Jackson Malone from becoming the next victim. He’s used to risking his neck. He never intended to risk his heart.

Badlands: Medium and clairvoyant Simon Kincaide owns a Myrtle Beach boardwalk shop where he runs ghost tours, holds seances, and offers private psychic readings, making a fresh start after his abilities cost him his lover and his job as a folklore professor. Jaded cop Vic D’Amato saw something supernatural he couldn’t explain during a shootout several years ago in Pittsburgh and relocated to Myrtle Beach to leave the past behind, still skeptical about the paranormal.  But when the search for a serial killer hits a dead end, Vic battles his skepticism to ask Simon for help. As the body count rises, Simon’s involvement makes him a target, and a suspect. But Simon can’t say no, even if it costs him his life and heart
